If you're not into big coffee chains like Dunkin' or Starbucks, this app will point you towards some family-owned shops that'll have just what you want.

Visiting a new city but still need to get your cup (or three) of coffee in for the day? This is the app you need. All you have to do is put in where you are and you'll have a bunch of places to choose from. Plus, you'll get to see what others thought of each coffee shop, hopefully making your decision a little easier.

This is for when you don't want to leave your house to get your coffee fix, but can't imagine skipping a mug. All you have to do is look up your go-to order on the app and you'll get step-by-step instructions on exactly how to make it. Dreaming of an iced caramel macchiato from Starbucks but can't imagine driving to one? No problem, Spro has you covered.

No, this app doesn't offer any help in finding new places to try or any quick tutorial on how to make a drink. This is app is purely devoted to Starbucks and its drinks. Plus, the more you pay with it the more points you get. As you collect points, you score free drinks or food items. Being rewarded for drinking (unhealthy amounts) of coffee has never felt so good. 

6. Baristame

This app is similar to Spro, except it's exclusively for Android users. You can get instructions and recipes for making your favorite coffee drinks in the comfort of your own home. Since  you're making all these drinks at home, it's safe to say you're a barista. 

7. Intelligentsia

This coffee app is for anyone in Boston, Chicago, LA, or New York. Intelligentsia's stores are only in these cities, but fingers crossed it opens more locations soon. The app has everything you need to know like menu items, at-home brewing instructions, and shop hours and locations. If you want to compare this app to something, it's basically a local version of the Starbucks app. 

8. Dunkin' Donuts

The biggest debate between coffee lovers at the moment is whether you're more of a Starbucks or Dunkin' fan. The Dunkin' Donuts app is very similar to the Starbucks one, but is has its own special twists. Dunkin' has a special place in my heart since it offers discount perks when my local sports teams win a game. A coffee discount is all you need, right?
